The Dangote Refinery has announced another reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, lowering the rate to N835 per litre. This marks the second downward adjustment in under a week.
The new price represents a N30 decrease from the previous N865 per litre announced six days ago, and a total drop of N45 from the N880 per litre rate at the beginning of last week.
According to a statement released on Wednesday by Anthony Chiejina, Chief Branding and Communications Officer of the Dangote Group, the revised pricing will be implemented across all partner retail outlets nationwide.
Regional pump prices have been updated as follows:
Lagos: N890 per litre (down from N920) – major distributors include MRS, Ardova (AP), Heyden, Optima Energy, Hyde, and Techno Oil.
South-West: N900 per litre (down from N930)
North-West & North-Central: N910 per litre (down from N940)
South-East, South-South & North-East: N920 per litre (down from N950)
The latest cut follows a N15 reduction in gantry (loading) price earlier in the week, underscoring a continued trend toward lower pricing. Despite the adjustments, many retail stations across the country have yet to reflect the new prices at the pump.
