As Evangelist Tracy Ajisegbede marks her 70th birthday, her life story stands as a testament to resilience, love for family, and unwavering faith.
Born on April 22, 1955, in Ile-Ife, Osun State, to the family of Late Alhaji Arnisu Adebanwo and Alhaja Nimota Ayinke Adebanwo, her journey has spanned across cities, cultures and generations.

The fifth child in a family of seven, young Tracy spent her early years with her grandmother in Idewon, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. After relocating to Epe, Lagos, she began her primary education at R.C.M School Mojoda before completing it at S.S. Peter and Paul Primary School, Iremo Road, Ile-Ife, following her grandmother’s passing in 1968.

Determined to pursue education despite several relocations, she moved to Kaduna to live with her brother, Alhaji Safiriyu Adebanwo, where she enrolled in Girls Secondary School, Malumfashi, Katsina State. She later returned to Lagos, retook her WAEC at Nigeria People’s High School in Ebute Meta, and proceeded to Protestant Teacher Training College, Idi-Araba, where she earned her Grade Two Teacher’s Certificate in 1979.

It was during this period she met the love of her life at Agbole Kafo, Oyingbo, Lagos. They married on August 30, 1980, and were blessed with beautiful children. “God gave me not just a husband, but a friend and partner in purpose,” she often says.

In 1983, she briefly joined her husband in the United Kingdom but chose to return to Nigeria to care for their children. When her husband completed his studies and returned to Nigeria, the family eventually settled in Ilorin, Kwara State. There, she continued her academic pursuit, obtaining her NCE in Economics Education from the College of Education, Ilorin, and later earned a degree from the University of Ado-Ekiti.

Evangelist Ajisegbede built a rich career as a teacher, serving in various schools across Lagos, Epe, Asa, and Ilorin. Her teaching portfolio includes U.N.A Primary School Oyingbo, Right Primary School Shomolu, Solomon Memorial Primary School Epe, and Al-Adabiyah Primary School, Ilorin, among others.
In her later years, she relocated to the United States where she continued her passion for care and service, working as a Home Health Aide with Priority Home Care and currently as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at the Center for Family Support (CFS).
Her life has remained anchored in faith and family. “To God be the glory for the great things He has done and is still doing in my life,” she says with heartfelt gratitude.
Evangelist Ajisegbede’s story is more than a biography—it is a legacy of sacrifice, education, and deep-rooted belief in the power of God and purpose.
