The newly elected executives of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), Kwara State branch, have unveiled a strategic roadmap to enhance human resource practices across the state, anchored on an “IMPACT” agenda that promotes innovation, inclusiveness, and professionalism.

Speaking at the Institute’s Annual General Meeting held at the University of Ilorin on April 30, 2025, the new Chairperson, Mrs. Azeezat Quadri Ibrahim, outlined her administration’s priorities, which include strengthening the institute’s structures, expanding its membership base, and fostering strategic professional development.

“I am deeply humbled and honoured to serve as your Chairperson,” Ibrahim said, pledging to work closely with the national body to ensure alignment while creating platforms for HR professionals in Kwara to thrive.

She explained that her “IMPACT” agenda stands for Institutional Strengthening, Membership Growth & Engagement, Professional Development, Accessible Secretariat, Communication & Visibility, and Teamwork & Transformation.

Ibrahim announced plans to launch targeted training sessions and seminars in response to evolving HR trends, and to set up a more functional CIPM secretariat to enhance member support and engagement. “Transformation cannot happen without sound teamwork,” she noted.

She called on members to become active participants in the institute’s growth, stating, “It’s time to step off the sidelines and help build a stronger CIPM in Kwara.”

Outgoing Chairperson, Mrs. Olaide Gloria Ajiboye, in her farewell remarks, appreciated members for their support over her two-year tenure, highlighting key achievements such as the visit of the CIPM National President, Mr. Segun Abdulmajeed, in 2023, increased participation in national events, and the induction of new members.

“We recorded our highest-ever conference attendance in a decade with 27 delegates in 2023,” Ajiboye stated, adding that 20 Associate Members were inducted and two members attained Fellowship status during her tenure.

She paid tribute to late members Mrs. Susan Oluwole and Alhaji Abolarin Usman, and congratulated two CIPM members recently appointed as permanent secretaries in the Kwara State Civil Service.

Ajiboye emphasized the importance of inclusivity in professional practice and encouraged the new leadership to sustain partnerships that promote HR excellence.

Also speaking, the new Vice Chairperson, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Olaniyi, expressed confidence in the diverse leadership team. “With our chairman coming from the public sector and myself from the private sector, we bring a balanced perspective that will enrich our strategies,” she said.

She assured members of the team’s readiness to drive impactful initiatives, adding, “We have a formidable team with fresh ideas. With unity and commitment, we’ll achieve great results.”

The CIPM Kwara branch continues to play a vital role in advancing HR best practices in both public and private sectors, with the new leadership poised to deepen that impact through strategic reforms and collective action.
