The newly appointed Commissioner of Police for Kwara State, CP Adekimi Ojo, has officially assumed duty as the 44th Commissioner of Police in the state.
A statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the development in Ilorin, the state capital.
CP Adekimi Ojo, a seasoned law enforcement officer with over three decades of service in the Nigeria Police Force, brings a wealth of experience in crime prevention, intelligence-led policing, and strategic security management. His leadership is expected to enhance security operations, public safety, and community engagement in the state.
Before his appointment, CP Ojo served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations in Kwara State, where he played a key role in crime-fighting strategies and security coordination. He has also held various operational, investigative, and administrative roles across different states, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to proactive policing.
In his maiden address, the new police commissioner assured residents of his dedication to maintaining law and order, combating crime, and ensuring a safer environment for all. He urged the public to remain law-abiding and cooperate with the police by providing credible information to aid security efforts.
As Muslim faithful in Kwara State and across the country mark Eid-el-Fitr, CP Ojo extended his warmest felicitations, wishing all a peaceful and joyous celebration. He called for unity, peace, and mutual understanding during the festivities and assured the public of adequate security measures before, during, and after the celebrations.
