In a significant boost for Nigeria’s industrial and export capacity, Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has entered into an exclusive partnership with Premier Product Marketing LLC, a Vinmar company, to distribute Dangote Polypropylene™ across global markets outside Africa.
The announcement comes as Dangote’s multibillion-dollar refinery and petrochemical complex in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, commences the production of polypropylene using advanced INNOVENE technology from INEOS. The facility is designed to meet international standards with the production of 77 different grades of polypropylene, widely used in packaging, automotive, textile and construction industries.
Speaking on the development, Hajiya Fatima Aliko Dangote, Group Executive Director (Commercial) of Dangote Group, said the move was in line with the company’s goal of establishing a strong Nigerian footprint in global industrial supply chains.
“We’re pleased to partner Vinmar to introduce Dangote Polypropylene™ to the global markets. Like other Dangote products, it will become a global brand known for quality and reliability,” she said.
Also commenting, CEO of Vinmar Group, Vishal Goradia, described the partnership as a continuation of a long-standing relationship with the Dangote Group.
“Vinmar has been honoured to count Dangote as a valued customer in Nigeria for decades. We are now thrilled to support the global launch of Dangote Polypropylene™,” Goradia stated.
With a production capacity of 900,000 metric tonnes annually and a projected turnover of $1.2 billion, the $2 billion petrochemical facility is expected to position Nigeria as a major player in the global plastics and petrochemical industry.
Vinmar, founded in 1978, has a global footprint with over 1,500 employees and 58 offices, distributing petrochemical products to more than 110 countries.
