Ibadan witnessed a grand celebration on March 29, 2025, as Elder Dr. Taiye Ayorinde JP, the Baale of Ekotedo, marked his 90th birthday with a book launch.
The event, Commenced with Thanksgiving Service, held at Christ Anglican Church, Mapo, at 9 a.m.
In his sermon, Ven. David A. Ania emphasized that birthdays are moments of reflection and gratitude to God. He highlighted the significance of reaching 90 years, urging well-wishers to dedicate their hearts to God and praise Him while still alive.

A special prayer and thanksgiving session followed, with celebrant and his family, offered praises and thanksgiving to appreciate God’s faithfulness and mercy in the life of the Celebrant.
After the Church Service, the reception took place at Kola Daisi Civic Center, Idi-Ape, Ibadan, featuring a grand opening by Union Rescue, who ushered the Baale to his reserved seat. The welcome speech was delivered by Rev. David Ayorinde, Baale’s first son, who described his father as a man who has made a lasting impact, particularly through his free eye health care initiatives.

The highlight of the event was the review and launch of Footprint of Greatness, led by Prof. Elder Michael Omolewa. Celebratory performances were rendered by gospel music legends Dr Bola Are and Evangelist Funmi Aragbeye.

Speaking at the event, Rev. David Ayorinde humorously described his father as “60 with 30 years of experience,” emphasizing his unwavering determination and leadership qualities.
Hon. Lola Ayorinde, the Erelu Tunwase of Ode-Remo, described Baale as a God-sent leader, while Chief Prince Adeojo and White Adetokunbo lauded him as a disciplined, kind, and straightforward personality.
To honor his contributions, Baale of Ekotedo was presented with an award by the Destiny Helpers Global Empowerment Foundation, recognizing his remarkable impact on society.
The event was a fitting tribute to a man whose leadership and service have left an indelible mark on his community.
