Free Healthcare for Thousands as Suleiman Yahyah Foundation Touches Lives in Katsina

4th April, 2025

Thousands of residents in Maska, Funtua Local Government Area of Katsina State, have benefited from a large-scale free medical outreach organised by the Suleiman Yahyah Foundation, marking another milestone in the Foundation’s mission to support underserved communities across Nigeria.

The outreach, which focused on women and children, offered free consultations, diagnostic tests, medications, and hepatitis vaccinations. It also attracted medical experts from both Kaduna and Funtua who provided care for patients battling a range of health issues, from hypertension and ulcers to eye and pelvic complications.

Chairman of the Foundation, Alhaji Suleiman Yahyah, said the initiative is part of his commitment to giving back to society through faith-inspired charity.

“This Foundation was established 16 years ago with a clear purpose: to support the poor and vulnerable. What we are doing today is in line with our Islamic obligation to give back through zakat and other philanthropic efforts,” he said.

Alhaji Yahyah added that supporting health and welfare in local communities remains a core aspect of the Foundation’s goals.

The outreach drew praise from local leaders and healthcare officials. The District Head of Funtua and Monarch of Maska, Alhaji Mainasara Idris, commended the Foundation’s selfless service to humanity.

“This outreach reflects a deep commitment to humanitarian service. Alhaji Suleiman Yahyah is a God-fearing patriot whose compassion continues to transform lives in Maska and beyond. May Allah reward him richly,” the monarch stated.

Lawal Hamisu Maska, Head of Primary Healthcare in the area, described the outreach as one of the most impactful medical interventions the community has witnessed in years.

“I have never seen such a turnout. The number of people treated, and the quality of care provided were outstanding. We are truly grateful,” he said.

Several beneficiaries could not hide their gratitude. Audu Hamisu Maska, who was treated for hypertension and ulcer, said, “All services were provided free of charge. I pray Allah blesses the founder abundantly.”

Another resident, Aminu Ango, who received care for an eye problem and pelvic pain, said: “I received treatment at no cost. May Allah grant him more strength and resources.”

For Halimatu Alhaji Ado, the outreach was a lifeline. “This support came at the right time. I didn’t pay anything and I’m already feeling better,” she said.

The Maska outreach adds to the Foundation’s growing track record of health interventions across the country, including similar programmes in Kaduna and Gombe States.
