Group Launches National Campaign to Inspire Unity, Rebuild Nigeria’s Image

19th May, 2025

A new national campaign aimed at reshaping Nigeria’s public narrative and promoting a united, progressive country has been launched in Abuja with a strong appeal for collective patriotism and national advancement.

Speaking at the official unveiling of the Presidential Call for Advanced Nigeria (PCAN), the Convener, Ambassador (Prince) Jeffrey S. Adaralegbe, called on Nigerians at home and abroad to rally behind a fresh vision of hope, unity, and development.

“Let us remind ourselves who we are,” Adaralegbe said. “Nigeria has faced many challenges—from colonial rule and civil war to military dictatorship and socio-economic hardship—but we must now rise above ethnic, religious, and cultural divides to build a nation that truly works for all.”

PCAN, described as a Social Orientation Campaign Project, is designed to foster peace and unity by promoting mutual respect, inclusion, and collaboration among Nigeria’s diverse peoples. It also seeks to correct negative perceptions of the country and create a renewed sense of purpose and pride among citizens.

“We must change the story of Nigeria from that of dysfunction to that of possibility,” the convener said. “This is a call to all patriotic Nigerians to stand as ambassadors of a greater Nigeria—one that is peaceful, united, and forward-looking.”

The campaign will focus on mass communication strategies, cultural and moral reorientation, and interfaith cooperation to promote what Adaralegbe called “geopolitical coherence” and psychological liberation from past divisions.

He urged the media to highlight stories of inter-ethnic cooperation and positive national efforts, while calling on law enforcement agencies and government institutions to uphold fairness and impartiality in dealing with all Nigerians.

“This is not just another project—it is a national ideology. The future of Nigeria lies in our hands, and we must answer this call together,” he said.

With a vision to reposition Nigeria as a leading voice among nations, PCAN aims to awaken a sense of collective responsibility that drives transformation and progress.

“Let us not curse the land and expect its blessings,” Adaralegbe concluded. “Instead, let us rise as one people to make Nigeria greater.”
