The Kwara State government has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to students’ welfare and academic development, assuring them of sustained support to enhance their educational pursuits.
The Honourable Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu, made this assurance during the inauguration of the newly elected Executive Members of the National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS) at the Labour House, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Secretariat in Ilorin.

Speaking at the event, the Commissioner emphasized that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration prioritizes education, implementing policies and initiatives to improve learning conditions for students across the state.
“Our administration remains steadfast in its support for students. Education is a cornerstone of Governor AbdulRazaq’s vision, and we are committed to ensuring that students receive the necessary assistance to excel academically,” she stated.
Hajia Modibbo Kawu highlighted several initiatives introduced by the state government, including the prompt disbursement of bursaries and scholarships to ease students’ financial burdens. She also pointed to the establishment of the Kwara State Education Trust Fund with an initial grant of N100 million, describing it as a strategic investment in the future of education.

The Commissioner commended the students for their peaceful electoral process, describing their conduct as a sign of maturity and readiness for leadership. She urged the newly elected NAKSS executives to embrace teamwork and adopt leadership approaches that promote the collective interests of students.
“As representatives of your peers, you have a responsibility to foster unity and advocate for policies that benefit all students. The government will continue to engage with you to ensure that students’ concerns are addressed,” she assured.
Hajia Modibbo Kawu reiterated that the state government remains committed to creating a thriving academic environment where students can achieve their full potential.
