The Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, has commended the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Emeritus Professor Is-haq Oloyede, for his transparent and proactive handling of the challenges that affected the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
In a letter addressed to the JAMB Registrar, Professor Jimoh praised Oloyede’s courage in taking responsibility for the glitches that disrupted the examination in some centres, describing the move as a rare show of sincerity and integrity.
“The prompt steps taken by JAMB under your leadership—particularly the decision to allow affected candidates retake the exam at no cost—are exemplary. It speaks volumes of your commitment to fairness and the credibility of the admission process,” Jimoh stated.
He also noted that JAMB’s open apology and swift resolution of the matter helped reassure stakeholders, especially parents and candidates, about the reliability of the examination body.
“KWASU appreciates the sincerity and promptness with which JAMB addressed the matter and laid the facts bare to the concerned public. This will allay fears and ensure the integrity of the examination body remains intact,” he added.
Professor Jimoh further described JAMB’s response as a benchmark for responsible public service, expressing hope that other institutions would take a cue from such leadership.
“You have written your name and that of JAMB in the annals of history as responsible institutions worthy of emulation by people and organisations. It is our prayer that Allah grants you the strength to continue to serve Nigeria and humanity,” the Vice-Chancellor stated.
