In a world where political praise is often reserved for the loudest voices, Hon. (Prince) Akinmoyede Olafisoye’s quiet but seismic contributions to Akinyele and Lagelu federal constituency, Oyo is worthy of more than just fleeting applause. A leader of rare grit and grace, he has poured his heart into improving the quality of life of his constituents and never wavers in his commitment. He is a leader who sees, hears and understands where the shoe pinches. He is a man whose actions speak volumes in whispers a society addicted to noise.

From his days as councillor to being the Vice-Chairman, Chairman, State Lawmaker and now to his current position as federal lawmaker representing the Akinyele/Lagelu constituency, “Lafi”, as he is fondly called by his admirers has redefined what it means to lead with foresight. His tenure as the Chairman of Lagelu local government wasn’t just about governance; it was a masterclass in youth empowerment. He immersed them in the bloodstream of politics and policy. He understands the importance of making the youth gainfully engaged, preventing them from becoming burdens on society. He opened many doors of opportunities for them to thrive and realise their dreams and ambitions. He is a leader who believes in empowering today’s youth to become tomorrow’s leaders. He believes that true leadership isn’t about credit; it’s about making a positive impact.

This is evident in his achievements within the two years of his assumption of office as the lawmaker that represents the Akinyele/Lagelu federal constituency as he has initiated and distributed various economic empowerment programmes aimed at ameliorating poverty and economic support to his constituents.

Among his notable these interventions are the brand new tricycles popularly called ‘Keke Marwa worth N3.5 million each to 10 constituents free of charge, organised training programs on operating Point of Sales (Terminal) machines for 300 constituents with each participant received a POS machine, an umbrella and N100,000:00 in start-up capital to launch their businesses as POS Agents.

Also, Hon. His interventions in the area of agriculture include the distribution of various farm equipment and machines such as tiller, planter, automatic and manual sprayers, fertilizers, chemicals and seedlings for farmers in the constituency while he has also empowered a separate group of women with sewing and grinding machines with another N30 million distributed to 300 people at N100,000 each to augment their trading/business activities.

Lafi’s greatest triumph lies in his ability to relate to and accommodate critics and opposition and play politics without bitterness. While others trade insults, he trades ideas. While rivals fuel chaos, he builds bridges and this has become a magnet that endears people to him.

He is a man who truly understands the daily struggles of the people at the grassroots. He is not just another politician, he is one of them. He walked in their shoes, lived among them, and listened to their yearnings.

He knows where the shoe pinches and is always ready to make provisions for better healthcare, quality education, job opportunities for the youth, and support for hardworking traders and farmers in his constituency

With his vision, experience, and genuine love for the people, Akinyele/Lagelu federal constituency will no doubt experience all round-development. He is determined to give them quality representation and bring good governance to their doorsteps.
