Muslims Celebrate Eid – il – Fitri in Ibadan

Muslim ummah across the country on Sunday gathered to celebrate eid-fitri which marked the end of annual 30 days Ramadan fasting.

In Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, Elegant looking multitude were captured beaming in joy to different eid praying ground across the city as they bid farewell to 2025 Ramadan

At ibadan central Eid ground in Agodi Many Muslims faithfuls observed the two rakat prayers led by the Chief Imam of Ibadan land, Sheikh Abdulganiy Agbotomokekere.

Sheik Agbotomokekere, admonished the Muslims to move closer to God, disciplined and never forget the tenet of Ramadan.

He lauded the state government under the leadership of Engr. Seyi Makinde and other leaders in the saddle of government, as he renders his prayers to government at all levels

Meanwhile, Eminent personalities including the Deputy Governor of Oyo state, Barr. Abdul Raheem Adebayo Lawal, former Governor and the Otun Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba,Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, who represented the Olubadan of Ibadan land Oba Owolabi Olakulehin Ige, former deputy Governor of Oyo state, Amb. Taofeek Arapaja, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland (Edo and Delta states), Alhaji Daud Makanjuola Akinola, the Babasale Musulumi of Oyo State, Alhaji Nureni Akanbi and Professor Gbolagade Abiodun.

Others are the Chairman Oyo State Local Government Staff Pension Board, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige, Algon Chairman, Hon. Sikirullah Sanda and some local government chairmen, state lawmakers and some other Oyo state government functionary.

In his message after the prayer, the deputy Governor, Barr. Raheem Bayo Lawal described the celebration as a remarkable day for all Muslims who have observed the Ramadan fast with pure heart and good faith.

He enjoined everyone to maintain the lane of generosity, compassion and unity even after Ramadan. He thereafter charged the indigene to keep on cooperating and believe in the government especially in this tough period

In a chat with Rulers’ World TV, Professor Abiodun Gbolagade who is the Mogaji Lato compound, Labo, Ibadan charged the Muslims to continue to be pious and never go back to the old things they have abandoned in the just concluded Ramadan fasting, adding that they should equally continue to show empathy, kindness and love to their fellow human beings.
