The Director General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Professor Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman, has described the appointment of Dr. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe as Chairman of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) as a well-thought-out decision that aligns with the nation’s healthcare needs.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his media aide, Mohammad Abdulkadri, Professor Sulaiman commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he termed a strategic appointment. He said Oloriegbe’s selection reflects the principle of “putting a round peg in a round hole,” given his vast experience in the medical sector.
“Oloriegbe’s track record as a seasoned medical expert with both national and international exposure makes him the right man for the job. His appointment is a testament to the president’s commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery in Nigeria,” Sulaiman stated.
He urged the new NHIA chairman to bring his wealth of expertise to bear in driving reforms that will enhance access to quality healthcare for Nigerians. He also prayed for Oloriegbe’s success in his new role, expressing confidence in his ability to deliver on the mandate.
