Former Peoples Democratic Party, Vice Chairman, South West Zone, Chief Bode George has admitted and acknowledged the PDP’s current state of disarray but dismissed suggestions that the crisis is irreparable. He disclosed that the situation originated from internal decisions and personal ambitions rather than structural imbalance which will give room for easier resolution.

He stated that issues like this are normal in any organisation be it religious, economic, Ploitics among others.

“I have been in this party since 1998. We have had crisis. There is no political organisation or any organisation, whether political or otherwise, that will not have crisis. And this is self-inflicted crisis. That’s what I’m saying. The people put their interest before the corporate interest of the party.”

Bode George cleared the doubt about the  National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, insisted that the meeting will go as planned despite tensions and anxiety surrounding it. He charged all the true lovers of PDP to turn up for the meeting so as to make the resolution a possibility

“I am pleading with all of them, those who still love this party, to please come down. We will meet on Monday. Call it whatever name you want to call it. And we will resolve our crisis. We will resolve it by Monday,” he stated.

The former Governor charged all the stakeholders and members to exhibit more effort into resolving the lingering issue, thereby pleading to them to showcase their competency via the confrontation of truths.

“When you have crisis within the party, like we have now, or between the legislative arm, the executive arm, and the party, it is the responsibility of the elders, the custodian of the liabilities and the assets of the party to weigh in. What I had done, and I will be quite explicit, is this. You know, there are two arguments about the meeting for Monday.

He threw jibes at Minister of FCT Nyesom Wike, condemned his recent actions of publicly endorsing President Tinubu as he described him as an inconsistent member of the party.

While commending Wike’s past contributions to the party, Bode George fumed at assertion of him owing the party as he said he’s just an individual who joined the party like others

“When did Wike join the party? Who said he owns it? Okay. He has contributed his quota, yes. But to say he owns the party, that’s a fallacy.”

Bode George expressed confidence in PDP despite the consistent Crisis and reoccurring issues, maintained that PDP remained the only true and most solid party capable of reviving the Country from current Political tragedy, inflicted by the ruling APC.
