In a recent interview, President Ruto revealed plans to borrow trillions to finance government projects and maintain operations.

KENYA’S PRESIDENT, WILLIAMS RUTO, has succumbed to the request of Kenya’s POPULACE, Following the protest that erupted Kenya, over Finance bill 2024 , proposed by the government.
The protests, which erupted across the country, highlighted significant public discontent with the Finance Bill 2024. The demonstrations, marked by the destruction of property and tragic loss of life, ultimately led to President Ruto’s decision to reconsider the bill.
President Ruto emphasized that without the Finance Bill, the government would be forced to borrow extensively to fund its activities and development projects. This move is seen as a direct response to the public’s outcry and a measure to ensure the continued functioning of the government.

He maintained that withdrawal of finance bill, rejected by the Kenya’s will push his government into borrowing to finance and run the affairs of the state.
It will recalled that President RUTO had declined to sign the Finance bill 2024, following the protest that led to destruction of properties and claimed lives in the state.
