Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has publicly challenged Senate President Godswill Akpabio to pursue legal action over her explosive accusations that he orchestrated a plot to have her recalled from the Senate and ultimately assassinated.
Speaking at a rally in Ihima, Kogi Central, on Tuesday, the senator reiterated her claims and welcomed the threat of a lawsuit.
In the same vein Natasha on TV interview with Channels insisted in her claims dares Senate President to Challenge her . She was quoted
“I am hearing that the Senate President wants to sue me for that,” she said. “I will tell him to go ahead. We will meet and cross that bridge.”
Akpoti-Uduaghan alleged that Akpabio initially approached Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo to initiate her recall from the Senate. When Ododo reportedly declined due to her popularity, she claimed Akpabio turned to former Governor Yahaya Bello to execute both the recall and an assassination plot.
She further alleged that Akpabio instructed that her killing should occur in Kogi, to make it appear as though it was carried out by locals.
“I didn’t make that public, but we did notify the police about it,” she said.
Senator Natasha pointed to the recent recall process as partial proof.
“If you are doubting the veracity of the killing, what about the recall that we just experienced?” she asked.
The Senate President has yet to issue a public response to the allegations. His aides have not confirmed or denied reports of a potential lawsuit.
The incident underscores mounting political tensions and power struggles within the National Assembly. Security agencies have also not commented on whether an investigation into the senator’s claims has been launched.
