The Tinubu Media Volunteers (TMV) have commended President Bola Tinubu’s administration for flagging off the long-awaited dualization of sections two to four of the Ekpoma-Auchi-Okpella-Okene-Ajaokuta expressway.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Chukwudi Enekwechi, and Secretary, Shadrach Sunday, the group described the project as a significant relief for motorists and traders who have endured years of hardship on the critical road linking Edo and Kogi states.
“We note that the Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, while inaugurating the project on behalf of President Tinubu, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to making Nigerian roads motorable. This is a welcome development, as the road serves as a major link between the western, eastern, and northern regions,” the statement read.
The group criticized past administrations for neglecting the highway despite repeated budgetary allocations. “For years, this road was left in disrepair under the PDP-led government, despite the huge funds allocated to it. The difference now is that President Tinubu is turning promises into action,” it added.
According to TMV, the reconstruction will not only ease movement but also boost economic activities for communities along the corridor. “With this intervention, businesses will thrive, transporters will have smoother journeys, and residents will no longer suffer from the road’s deplorable state.”
The group urged Nigerians to rally behind the Tinubu administration as it strives to improve the country’s road network. “This is just one of many projects aimed at transforming Nigeria’s infrastructure. We encourage citizens to support the government in its efforts to rebuild and modernize our road system,” it concluded.
