Victims of Land grabbers in ASHAJU, Akobo area losses their house, property, to court demolition order

Victims of Land grabbers in ASHAJU, Akobo area losses their house, property, to court demolition order , as the rightful owner Rev John Famodimu takes possession.

Following the court order, declared by Court 3 Iyaganku, Ibadan, ordered the right of possession to the rightful owner of 4 acres of land property, Rev. Dr John Oludare Famodimu in ASHAJU, Jenriyin, Elewuro axis, Lagelu Local government, Ibadan, Oyo state , Not less than 20 illegal houses built on 4 acres of land were demolished in the presence of armed police men, court Sherif and Court bailiff, to ensure execution and enforcement of court order against Morufu the Popular Land grabbers in the area.

MORUFU victms houses consisting of 10 completed and 10 uncompleted houses respectively were illegally built on 4 acres of land belonging to Bishop john Famodimu,

According to the rightful owner, Bishop Famodimu, the land was legally purchased in 2006 from the family of late chief Tinubu, subject to issuance of all necessary document including the surveyor slip and certificate of ownership among other evidences submitted in court to support his claim.

The residents victims falls to the trap of a notorious land grabber named Odofin Moruf Ajayi of Arepo family who is known to be professional land grabber in the community and environs with his manipulations via varieties of ways including superficial power to deny the rightful owner of their landed property.

Moruf sold the land to different set of innocent occupants who went on to build houses on it without going through the normal procedure.
which prompted Bishop Famodimu to seek redress in the court of law in 2012

Famodimu highlighted that he has gone to warn the victims on numerous occasions in respect to court order while he has won the cases three consecutive times up to the appeal final judgement from the court, but they never harken to his urge, which an eye witness who pleaded anonymity testified to on the spot of gathering this report

After twelve years of tussle the court affirmed Bishop Famodimu as the rightful owner of the land on October 22, 2023, gave him right of possession and ordered for the demolition of the houses on the land and penalty imposed on Moruf to pay Famodimu the sum of #5 million naira as damages.

The victims lamented that they were aware of the tussle on the land but the report from Moruf was that he has won the case against Bishop Famodimu, and still extorted them by collecting millions of naira since the inception of the case until the final judgement was made.

Bishop Famodimu however full of praise to Almighty God, and commended the Nigerian police and the Judiciary for the prevalence of justice.

He noted that this judgement is a testament to the commitment of judiciary in ensuring the protection of life and property in the state

Famodimu stated further that the outcome of the case has solidified his trust and believe in judiciary and the Nigeria police, Oyo State command for enforcement of the judgement, added that the acts will serve as a threat and deterrents to the Land grabbers in the State and curb their illegal activities.
