The Minister of the federal capital territory, Nyesom Wike has expressed his pleasure about the recent development in his state (Rivers state), says peace has finally returned as both parties have put their difference and now ready for the task ahead
During the Media chat in Abuja, Wike disclosed that the terms of the reconciliation is not his business to divulged, saying whoever that want to know should approach the suspended Governor, Siminalayi Fubara
“I don’t know anybody explanation, what is important is that peace, do you like peace? Yes! What are you going to benefit from how the peace was achieved, the most important is peace.”
Addressing the rumour that main part of their agreement is that Fubara will not be contesting for second term, Wike noted that he’s not INEC that is going to run election, stated that everything that is making wave is just mere speculation
He challenged the media says they are the major promoter of disunity as he stated that Fubara has never addressed them on this issue thereby caution them to stop feasting on cooked story and stop inviting propagandist to their stations in desperation of making money
“Am I the one that is going to run election? If that is his decision, then he should nw the one to tell you. He has never spoken you on that, you’re the one promoting disunity making money for your stations, inviting people to your stations to talk, now the well have died, no more oil.
Wike opened up about their visit to President Tinubu at the presidential villa Abuja by saying He never invited them for any meeting but it was the request of the Governor after he had met with the state Assembly, party leaders and key stakeholders
When asked about when the emergency rule will be lifted in Rivers, the former Governor stressed that he was not the one that declared it and he has no idea about the President’s plan. He stated further by saying he never ask him before he made past decisions and and he doesn’t need his help or permission before lifting it.
